Understanding ADHD, Autism and AuDHD: The Core Programme for Adults

The Core Programme

AuDHD Self-Understanding
& Self-Management

Why This Programme Exists

Many Autistic, ADHD and AuDHD adults have spent years trying to improve themselves using systems that were never designed for how their brain works.
When effort doesn’t lead to consistency, it often creates confusion, frustration, or self-doubt.

I designed this programme to replace that confusion with understanding.

Rather than trying to change who you are, we focus on understanding how your nervous system operates so that your effort can move in a more helpful direction. The aim is to move from self-criticism towards self-compassion, and from pushing harder towards working more sustainably.

Who This Programme Is For

This programme is for adults (16+) who identify as Autistic, ADHD, or AuDHD and want to better understand how their brain works and how to live and work with it more sustainably. The coaching is particularly suited to people who feel comfortable engaging in structured, reflective online coaching sessions.

You may recognise yourself here if you:

• feel capable but frequently exhausted or overwhelmed
• struggle with motivation or consistency despite genuine effort
• experience burnout cycles or emotional shutdown
• find transitions, focus, or starting tasks unexpectedly difficult
• want practical understanding rather than therapy

A formal diagnosis is not required. What matters most is a willingness to explore your experience with curiosity.

What Coaching Means in This Programme

This is a structured, psychoeducational coaching programme made up of 10 weekly one-to-one online sessions.

In our work together, we focus on:

• understanding patterns
• learning practical frameworks
• applying strategies to daily life
• building long-term self-management skills

We don’t analyse the past in depth or provide therapy. Instead, we use understanding to support present and future change.

The coaching relationship is collaborative:

• I provide structure, tools, and guidance
• you bring your lived experience and reflection

Progress happens through curiosity and experimentation, not pressure.

How Sessions Work

Each session includes:

• a structured, worksheet-guided conversation
• reflection questions that connect ideas to your real life
• recognising patterns over time
• small, optional experiments between sessions

These experiments are not homework. They are gentle ways to discover what actually helps. Some weeks feel more insightful. Some feel quieter. Both are a normal part of progress.

What We Cover

Stage 1 — Understanding Your System (Weeks 1–3)

WEEK 1 — Understanding Your AuDHD Brain
WEEK 2 — Understanding Your Energy, Burnout & Recovery Loops
WEEK 3 — Executive Function, Task Friction & Reducing Internal Resistance

Throughout these weeks we begin understanding how AuDHD brains and the nervous system function. In doing so we learn:

• why energy fluctuates
• why burnout happens
• why starting or switching tasks can feel difficult

The aim is relief through explanation.

Stage 2 — Working With Momentum (Weeks 4–6)

WEEK 4 — Why Transitions Are Hard (and How to Make Them Easier)
WEEK 5 — Understanding Your Motivation Patterns & Working With Your Real Capacity
WEEK 6 — Focus, Distraction & How Your Attention System Really Works

During these weeks we explore how momentum is experianced, learning:

• why transitions feel hard
• how motivation really works
• how attention responds to different conditions

The aim is reducing internal resistance.

Stage 3 — Strength and Emotional Safety (Weeks 7–9)

WEEK 7 — Your Strengths, Your Spark: Turning What You Do Naturally into Supportive Systems
WEEK 8 — Rejection Sensitivity, Internal Threat & Safe Connection
WEEK 9 — Emotional Regulation, Safe Release & Coming Back to Centre

With your internal systems clearer, we begin stabilising confidence and emotional regulation, exploring:

• strengths and natural patterns
• rejection sensitivity and internal threat responses
• safe emotional regulation and recovery

The aim here is building safety and self-trust.

Stage 4 — Integration (Week 10)

WEEK 10 — Pulling It All Together: Your Personal AuDHD Strategy Blueprint

In this final stop on our journey, we bring everything together into a personal framework, leaving you with:

• awareness of your patterns
• supportive strategies
• early warning signals
• a more sustainable way forward

The aim is to recap the language and understanding gained through coaching, so that you can move forward with greater self-compassion and a stronger ability to self-advocate.

What Progress Actually Looks Like

Progress rarely looks dramatic. Instead, it often appears as:

• recognising overwhelm earlier
• understanding your reactions more quickly
• reduced self-criticism
• clearer decision-making
• feeling less confused by your own patterns

Understanding usually comes before change. This programme is not about becoming someone different. It is about learning how to support the person you already are.
