AuDHD Student Programme: Empowering Unique Learners

The Student Programme

AuDHD Learning & Academic
Self-Management

Why This Programme Exists

Many AuDHD students are intelligent, motivated, and genuinely interested in learning, yet still experience repeated overwhelm, avoidance, or burnout. This often happens because education systems assume consistent attention, predictable energy, and strong internal organisation. When learning works differently, it’s easy to begin believing you are lazy, disorganised, or incapable.

I designed this programme to replace that misunderstanding with clarity.

Rather than trying to force traditional study methods, we focus on understanding how your brain learns so that studying becomes more sustainable and less emotionally costly.

Who This Programme Is For

This programme is for students (16+) who identify as Autistic, ADHD, or AuDHD and want to better understand how their brain learns, studies, and responds to academic pressure. The coaching is particularly suited to students who feel comfortable engaging in structured, reflective online coaching sessions.

You may relate if you:

• understand the material but struggle to start assignments
• fall into last-minute panic cycles around deadlines
• feel exhausted by studying even when you care about the subject
• experience perfectionism, shutdown, or avoidance
• feel capable but inconsistent in your academic work

A formal diagnosis is not required. What matters is a willingness to explore how your learning system works.

What Coaching Means in This Programme

This is a structured, psychoeducational coaching programme made up of 10 weekly one-to-one online sessions.

It is important to say clearly that this is not academic tutoring. We don’t focus on your subject content or assignments directly.

Instead, we focus on you as a learner, and how you can navigate the learning environment in a way that works for your brain.

In our sessions, we focus on:

• understanding learning patterns
• reducing assignment overwhelm
• building practical study systems
• supporting emotional safety around academic work

The coaching relationship is collaborative:

• I provide structure and tools
• you bring your lived experience and reflection

Progress happens through understanding and experimentation, not pressure.

How Sessions Work

Each session includes:

• structured, worksheet-guided conversation
• reflection questions connected to real study situations
• recognising patterns across weeks
• small, optional experiments between sessions

These are not homework or assessment tasks. They are gentle ways to discover what helps. Some weeks feel more productive. Some feel more reflective. Both are part of the process.

What We Cover

Stage 1 — Understanding Your Learning System (Weeks 1–3)

WEEK 1 — Understanding Your AuDHD Student Brain
WEEK 2 — Study Energy & Academic Burnout
WEEK 3 — Task Initiation & Assignment Activation

Throughout these weeks we begin by understanding how your brain approaches studying and assignments. In doing so we learn:

• why study energy fluctuates
• why assignments are hard to start
• how task activation actually works

The aim is relief through explanation.

Stage 2 — Building Study Stability (Weeks 4–6)

WEEK 4 — Working Memory & External Supports
WEEK 5 — Focus, Distraction & Attention Cycles
WEEK 6 — Time Blindness & Planning for Deadlines

During these weeks we introduce supports that make studying more predictable. Together we explore:

• how working memory affects learning
• how attention cycles function
• how time blindness impacts deadlines

The aim is reducing overwhelm through structure.

Stage 3 — Emotional Safety & Academic Confidence (Weeks 7–9)

WEEK 7 — Perfectionism, Pressure & Academic Shame
WEEK 8 — Sensory + Environment Design for Learning
WEEK 9 — Emotional Pressure, Feedback & Rejection Sensitivity in Study

With practical systems in place, we address emotional pressure connected to education. Together we look at:

• perfectionism and academic shame
• sensory and environmental needs
• emotional responses to feedback and evaluation

The aim is building confidence and reducing avoidance.

Stage 4 — Integration (Week 10)

WEEK 10 — Your Personal Learning Strategy Blueprint

In this final stop on our journey, we bring everything together into a personal learning framework, leaving you with:

• a clearer understanding of how you learn
• strategies that support assignments
• awareness of early overwhelm signals
• a sustainable study approach

The aim is to recap what has been gained through coaching so that you leave with a better understanding of what impacts your learning, and how you can create better environments and advocate for your needs.

What Progress Actually Looks Like

Progress rarely looks like instant improvement in grades.

Instead, it often appears as:

• starting assignments earlier or with less resistance
• reduced panic around deadlines
• clearer understanding of your limits
• less avoidance and self-criticism
• more confidence in your learning style

Understanding usually comes before performance change. This programme is not about becoming a different kind of student. It is about learning how to support the learner you already are.
