AuDHD Workplace Support & Burnout Prevention

The Employment Programme

AuDHD Workplace Support
& Burnout Prevention

Why This Programme Exists

Many Autistic, ADHD and AuDHD adults are capable and committed workers, yet still find employment unusually exhausting or unstable. This often happens not because of a lack of ability, but because workplaces are built around assumptions of steady energy, implicit communication, and consistent executive functioning. When effort doesn’t lead to sustainability, it’s common to begin blaming yourself.

I designed this programme to replace that self-blame with understanding.

Rather than trying to force yourself to function differently, we focus on understanding how your nervous system interacts with workplace demands so that work can become more sustainable over time.

Who This Programme Is For

This programme is for adults (16+) who identify as Autistic, ADHD, or AuDHD and want to navigate work in a way that feels sustainable rather than exhausting. The coaching is particularly suited to people who feel comfortable engaging in structured, reflective online coaching sessions.

You may recognise yourself here if you:

• feel capable at work but frequently burned out
• struggle with consistency despite strong effort
• find deadlines, communication, or task switching unusually draining
• experience shutdown, overwhelm, or anxiety related to work expectations
• feel you are constantly adapting yourself just to keep up

A formal diagnosis is not required. What matters is curiosity about how your brain interacts with workplace environments.

What Coaching Means in This Programme

This is a structured, psychoeducational coaching programme made up of 10 weekly one-to-one online sessions.

In our work together, we focus on:

• understanding workplace patterns
• reducing burnout risk
• building practical self-management strategies
• improving confidence navigating work environments

We don’t provide therapy, HR mediation, or career advice.

Instead, we focus on helping you understand how you function at work so you can make clearer, more sustainable choices.

The coaching relationship is collaborative:

• I provide structure, tools, and guidance
• you bring your lived experience and reflection

Progress develops through awareness and experimentation rather than pressure.

How Sessions Work

Each session includes:

• structured worksheet-guided conversation
• reflection questions connected to real workplace situations
• recognising patterns across weeks
• small optional experiments between sessions

These experiments are not performance tasks. They are gentle ways to discover what reduces strain. Some sessions feel practical. Others feel reflective. Both are part of progress.

What We Cover

Stage 1 — Understanding Work Patterns (Weeks 1–3)

WEEK 1 — Understanding Your AuDHD Brain at Work
WEEK 2 — Workplace Energy, Burnout & Recovery Cycles
WEEK 3 — Executive Function & Task Friction at Work

During these initial weeks, we begin by understanding how AuDHD traits interact with workplace expectations. In doing so, we learn:

• why work fatigue develops
• how executive function affects productivity
• why effort and outcome sometimes feel disconnected

The aim in this block is relief through explanation.

Stage 2 — Creating Stability (Weeks 4–6)

WEEK 4 — Time Blindness, Deadlines & Workplace Planning
WEEK 5 — Focus, Distraction & Attention at Work
WEEK 6 — Communication, Expectations & Hidden Workplace Rules

During these weeks, we introduce structure and clarity, focusing on:

• how time perception affects deadlines
• how attention responds to work conditions
• how communication and expectations influence stress

The aim is reducing friction and uncertainty.

Stage 3 — Sustainability & Identity (Weeks 7–9)

WEEK 7 — Masking, Authenticity & Sustainable Professional Identity
WEEK 8 — Sensory Load & Environment Design at Work
WEEK 9 — Feedback, Rejection Sensitivity & Workplace Confidence

Throughout these weeks, we address deeper workplace strain. In doing so we explore:

• masking and professional identity
• environmental and sensory load
• emotional responses to feedback and evaluation

The aim is building confidence and long-term sustainability.

Stage 4 — Integration (Week 10)

WEEK 10 — Your Sustainable Work Blueprint

In the final steps of our journey, we bring everything together into a personal reflective framework, leaving you with:

• awareness of your patterns
• early burnout warning signs
• supportive strategies
• a sustainable way of working moving forward

The aim is to recap what has been gained through coaching so that you leave with a better understanding of what impacts your work life, and how you can create better environments and advocate for your needs.

What Progress Actually Looks Like

Progress rarely looks like immediate workplace transformation.

Instead, it often appears as:

• recognising burnout earlier
• clearer communication choices
• reduced self-criticism
• improved energy awareness
• increased confidence navigating work situations

Understanding usually comes before external change. This programme is not about becoming a different kind of employee. It is about learning how to support the way you already work best.
